Decades of Dedication

I’ve always felt a deep, innate calling to serve families. While studying nursing, I originally planned to work in a neonatal intensive care unit. But life had a different path in store. After an unexpected turn of events, that set my nursing plans back, I was introduced to a midwife and attended my first natural birth at a birthing center. I knew I had found a true passion.

I jumped straight into midwifery, this was in 2004. In just the first three months of my internship, I had the honor of attending 150 births, gaining experience that would shape my approach to care for years to come. By 2006, I stepped into independent practice, focusing on home birth. I have been walking alongside women and their families ever since.

Over the years, I’ve been lead midwife in a birth center, a home birth practitioner, and a mentor to numerous students and midwives who now have thriving practices of their own. I am honored to be approaching my 1,000th attended birth, each one holds a special place in my heart.

Today, AMB Midwifery serves a wide radius of women across multiple states, providing prenatal care, delivery support, postpartum care, and general wellness. To ensure that every woman receives the attention and presence she deserves, I’ve built a trusted team of midwives who assist with births or provide support when nature’s timing requires it.

When I’m not welcoming new life into the world, you can often find me involved with my local church and women’s ministry, crocheting the homemade baby cocoons every little butterfly receives, or enjoying the occasional karaoke night. Another beloved member of our birth team is Winnifred (affectionately known as Winnie), my trained service and pressure therapy dog who also attends births upon request. Her calming presence is a joy to families and staff alike.

Midwifery is not just my profession—it’s my life’s work, and it’s a privilege to walk alongside women and their families during one of life’s most powerful moments.
